The Shaw Organ

Shaw Organs was an Ontario-based electronic church organ company in the pre-digital era.   The firm published this flyer around 1971.  This organ had 7 straight, independent ranks in the Great, 7 in the Swell, and 4 independent ranks in the pedal . . . and 175 independent audio channels.  That's 175 speakers, each doing something different from the rest.  Read the flyer carefully, and you will be impressed by the lengths to which Mr. Shaw went to imitate a pipe organ.

I played a Shaw organ in their factory around 1971.  It was very impressive, possessing none of the typical, annoying "electronic" characteristics of other organs of the day.
